Representatives from the Association for Southeast Europe in Munich (Southeast Europe Association), which is based in Munich, are staying in our country on a study visit, within which they were welcomed in a meeting by the first deputy prime minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi.
In his introductory speech and the discussion held with members of this association, Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi informed them about the current situation in the country and the achievements and successes of our country during the last three years of governance.
Introducing the three pillars of European integration, economic development and dialogue, he emphasized that an important objective has been the advancement in the journey towards European integration, where the visa liberalization process has already been finalized and we have made further steps in the implementation of the European reform agenda and the achievement of European standards, which further triggered the application for membership in December 2022.
On economic development, the progress that our country has known and some of the macroeconomic indicators were emphasized, such as through economic growth, employment growth, increased exports and foreign direct investments, as well as the attention paid to care for inclusiveness and equal distribution to all citizens, and especially the support of women and young people, as the main center and driving force among the most important in the development of our country.
International reports and indexes were also mentioned, which testify to the level of progress that Kosovo has seen in the last three years in rule of law, fight against corruption, economic development, freedoms and rights and democratization.
As for the dialogue with Serbia, Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi emphasized that Kosovo remains a constructive and committed party, but the process is facing the frequent refusals of the other party to advance further in many issues, especially the consecutive violations and the lack of implementation of the agreements reached.
Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi thanked the participants for their visit to Kosovo and for the conversation, wishing them a successful and fruitful continuation of their stay in our country.
