In the White House, the First Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development, and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, held a meeting with the Senior Director for Europe at the National Security Council of the Biden administration, Ambassador Michael Carpenter.

Expressing gratitude for the support towards Kosovo, Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi emphasized the steadfast partnership, friendship, and alliance with the United States of America.

During the meeting, discussions were held on the perspective of dialogue and the way forward in normalizing relations, with an emphasis on the implementation of the Basic Agreement and the Ohrid Implementation Annex, where Kosovo continues to remain constructive and committed to the process.

Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi stated that the recent terrorist attack last week in Varaga, Zubin Potok, at the Ibër Lepenc canal, is yet another indication that Serbia is not ready for the normalization of relations and good neighborliness. He also emphasized the need for the act of aggression in Banjska from September of last year, as well as the recent attack in Ibër Lepenc, to be punished with concrete measures, in order to prevent Serbia from repeating such large-scale attacks that undermine the security of the country and the region.

Furthermore, he spoke about the incentive policies undertaken by the government to support the Serbian community in Kosovo and facilitate their integration.
