During the day, the first deputy prime minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, met the Director General for Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, Peter Wilson.
Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi welcomed Mr. Wilson, wishing him a productive stay in the country during his visit. “We highly appreciate the role of the United Kingdom, our partnership and friendship”, said Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi.
He spoke about the country’s economic development over the last two years and highlighted the IMF’s assessment of Kosovo’s discipline and fiscal consolidation, from which the IMF approved the new SBA and RSF program.
On the other hand, Mr. Wilson appreciated the commitment and work developed by the Republic of Kosovo in the energy sector.
Regarding Russian aggression in Ukraine, Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi said that Kosovo is on the side of democracy, aligning its foreign policy with that of the European Union, imposing sanctions on Russia, removing visas for Ukrainian citizens and sheltering Ukrainian refugees.
The parties also discussed the situation in the north and the dialogue process. Director General Wilson was accompanied in this meeting by the British ambassador to Kosovo, Nicholas Abbott and his staff.
