Prishtina, 5 April, 2023
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, today visited the companies “Prishtina Original” and “LB Group” in Pristina.
In “Pristine Original”, he met the owner Skirton Pruthi together with his associates. Founded in the first half of 2021, this high-quality clothing design and production company now has a total of 11 employees, while their products have already appeared in prestigious international magazines such as GQ and Vogue.
From there, he visited “LB Group”, a company that deals with the production and marketing of confectionery materials as well as the production of cardboard and paper packaging, and was welcomed by co-owner Labeatin Bajraktari and his team.
A family business that started work in 2009, initially in the cardboard and paper packaging industry, now has 78 employees, whose average salary is over 500 euros, and is a leading company for the production of confectionery raw materials, replacing more and more the need for import for these products, as it has recently started with the production of sugar paste, becoming the first in the country and in the region. As a result of the investment in production, sales for just the first 3 months of this year are almost as much as the total sales of the entire year 2020.
In 2022, “LB Group” contributed nearly 1 million euros in taxes. From 2021, it also owns a training center, “LB Academy”, in which about 500 women have so far attended the three-month training for the preparation of sweets. In 2022, “LB Group” recorded a 10% increase in sales compared to the previous year. An even more positive trend was noted in terms of employment. In less than a year and a half, the number of employees had increased by 13%. The next phase of this business is export.
“LB Group” is a double beneficiary of the measures of the Economic Revival Package, measure 2.1 – Subsidizing investment loans and 2.4 – Export support, which have enabled them to increase their production capacity and expand the market.
The Prime Minister of Kurti thanked the two companies for their commitment and contribution to the development of local production, the promotion of the country through qualitative products and to the country’s economy.
