Poklek, Drenas, 17 April, 2025
The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, paid homage today in Poklek on the 26th anniversary of the Poklek massacre.
On 17 April, 1999, the armed forces of Serbia killed 53 Albanian civilians. 25 of those killed were under the age of 18. Of them, 18 were younger than 12. Among them were five infants, aged six months to two years. After killing them, the Serbian forces returned and burned the bodies twice.
After the tributes, Acting Prime Minister Kurti, accompanied by elected members of Parliament, visited the Muqolli Family House Museum, realized with the institutional support of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, within which the memories of those killed in the macabre massacre are preserved.
