Following the completion and inauguration of the desks in Radiology and Biochemistry in the first part of December, today the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, attended the inauguration of digitalized desks and other works at the Surgery Clinic. This included the digitalization of desks in Plastic Surgery, Thoracic Surgery and Urology, Abdominal Surgery, Vascular Surgery and Neurosurgery.

“A renovation of a space exceeding 1,000 square meters with a total cost of around 400,000 EUR. Now, access and orientation have been made easier for all patients. The desks are digitalized, and at the same time, for the first time, we have created modern infrastructure with international standards for patients with disabilities,” said Prime Minister Kurti.

In addition to desk arrangements, the Surgery Clinic also underwent wall, ceiling, and door renovations, the installation of handrails and stair lighting, and adjustments to all doors leading to corridors and waiting areas.

The Prime Minister stated that the Government’s priority has always been the healthcare sector, aimed at improving healthcare conditions and services, as well as ensuring dignified working conditions for healthcare workers, as patient recovery also depends on the well-being of doctors and nurses.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, emphasized that investments in surgical clinics will continue to ensure patients receive the best services, reduce intrahospital infections and improve working conditions for doctors and nurses.

“We have begun the renovation and transformation of operating blocks in most of the surgical clinics here. We have continued with the digitalization of a large part of the clinics, and what we are witnessing today includes spaces outside the clinics for families and patients to have better access and information,” he stated.

Congratulating everyone on this shared achievement, Prime Minister Kurti thanked all healthcare personnel and the Acting Director of QKUK, Osman Hajdari, for their tireless, professional, and high-quality work that saves countless lives.
