Ferizaj, December 17, 2024
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Minister of Finance, Labor, and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, participated today in the inauguration ceremony of the new metal pipe production factory, “Metal Kosova,” in Babush, Municipality of Ferizaj, marking the 25th anniversary of this enterprise’s establishment.
“Metal Kosova is proof that industry in Kosovo is growing. If we look at Kosovo’s exports, which have doubled in less than the past four years, in addition to information and communication technology, the processing of metals and wood stands out. Interestingly, both metal processing and wood processing thrive and flourish like nowhere else in Kosovo, right here in Ferizaj,” stated Prime Minister Kurti.
Metal Kosova has been one of the beneficiaries under Measure 2.1 for subsidizing the principal of investment loans aimed at expanding production or processing capacities.
The Prime Minister extended his congratulations to the management and workers of this factory on this significant achievement, wishing them continued and unceasing success.
Prime Minister Kurti’s full speech:
Honored Behluli Family,
Honorable Minister of Finance, Labor, and Transfers, Hekuran Murati,
Honorable Mayor of Ferizaj Municipality, Agim Aliu,
Honorable members of the Assembly of the Republic,
Representatives of central and local institutions,
Dear employees of “Metal Kosova,”
We are exceptionally delighted and honored to be here with you today as your business expands, your production increases, and in this way, both workers and owners benefit, as does the economy of our country.
Now, as you celebrate the 25th anniversary of this enterprise, this expansion of such an important industry is undoubtedly a double jubilee for you and all of us together.
“Metal Kosova” is proof that industry in Kosovo is growing. If we look at Kosovo’s exports, which have doubled in less than the past four years, in addition to information and communication technology, the processing of metals and wood stands out. Interestingly, both metal processing and wood processing thrive and flourish like nowhere else in Kosovo, right here in Ferizaj.
Hard work pays off. And those who invest their earnings, earn even more. And those who reinvest their larger earnings, earn the most. We are committed to ensuring that all enterprises and industries that invest and reinvest, expand their businesses, and increase employment, will always have the Government of the Republic of Kosovo as their permanent partner, not only Kosovo as a market for their goods.
That’s why Minister Murati and I are here today: to both receive your gratitude, as mentioned earlier, for Measure 2.1, the Measure for Subsidizing Investment Loans—and to reaffirm our commitment to open new markets for “Metal Kosova.” Furthermore, we aim to support efforts to increase the number of employees, production, and profits.
Directly, you benefit. Indirectly, the state also benefits, because all of you contribute as taxpayers, both as workers and as owners. In this way, the Kosovo budget increases, and as Minister Murati has shown us, next year’s budget will be 50% larger than in 2021.
All of you have contributed to this, and we are deeply grateful and appreciative for life.
Congratulations once again on this significant achievement, and may your successes continue in the future, together!
Thank you!
