Prime Minister Kurti and Minister Rizvanolli visited the Regional Water Supply Company “KRU Prishtina” and the Public Enterprise “Ibër-Lepenci”

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli and the Deputy Minister of Economy, Getoar Mjeku, visited the Regional Water Supply Company “KRU Prishtina” and the Public Enterprise “Ibër-Lepenci”.

The visit began at the Regional Water Company “KRU Prishtina”. There, he was closely acquainted with the company’s commitments and achievements, including infrastructural developments in the water supply network, the visible improvement in corporate governance, the improvement of working conditions, the expansion and improvement of services for citizens, as well as the increasing financial performance. The implementation of the 238 million euro project for the wastewater collector and plant for Prishtina, Gracanica, Fushë-Kosovo and Obiliq, which will be implemented with loans and grants from the German KfW, the French government and the Kosovo government, the investments for the construction of the network in Fushë-Kosovo, Shtime, Gracanica and Podujeva in the last two years and the preparations for wastewater plants in Podujeva and other cities, were highlighted.

Then, the Prime Minister visited the “Ibër-Lepenc” company, where he assessed its achievements and underlined the importance of this company for the development of the country In addition to developing major infrastructure projects and ensuring water supply for over 600 thousand inhabitants, Ibër-Lepenci, together with the support of the Government, has ensured the regular irrigation of our agricultural lands. During the meeting, the progress of the canal rehabilitation project was discussed, as well as the positive financial and operational performance.

In both meetings, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his gratitude and thanked the management and workers for their dedication and work to prevent and overcome the damage caused by the terrorist attack of November 29 on the critical infrastructure in the Ibër-Lepenci canal.
