Last night, the meetings of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, in the capital of Croatia, concluded with a reception organized with compatriots there.
In his address, the Prime Minister initially stated that Croatia is a friendly state and people, a partner and ally of Kosovo and the entire Albanian nation. He praised the role of our diaspora in the state-building of Kosovo, both before and after the war, before and after the declaration of independence of the Republic.
The Prime Minister emphasized that we will overcome the challenges we face together, successfully, on our path to progress that leaves no one behind, for development, prosperity and justice.
“I no longer invite our compatriots, as I did 30 years ago, to come to Kosovo and contribute by sacrificing, but to earn by investing. Others are also investing, all of you who are entrepreneurs, we guarantee that in Kosovo you not only have a free market where the law rules, but you also have a partner government that guarantees your investment,” the Prime Minister said.
He added that for the diaspora, we have enabled voting for the next elections in embassies and consulates, where until December 26 of this month, is the deadline for registering to vote either physically in embassies and consulates, or by mail within the country, for which he invited them to register.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked his compatriots in Croatia for their contribution to Croatia’s war for independence and for their role a few years later in the liberation of Kosovo.
“I am deeply and eternally grateful for this contribution of yours both in war and in peace. I invite you all for these end-of-year holidays, with what you can, to
visit your homeland. In the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, in the Prime Minister, you have politicians who love you very much and consider that they owe you a lot. Therefore, try to do two things: by 2030, one year, return to your homeland. I am not saying return now immediately, because I know that you think about this every day, but find a year, return to Kosovo, because both democratic progress and economic growth have created conditions for a good life there too. It is no longer the Kosovo of the time when Albanians were displaced due to persecution or poverty. And in addition, teach the Albanian language to the next generation as well as possible,” concluded Prime Minister Kurti.
