After the conversation with students, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, continued his stay in Frankfurt by meeting experts in the financial and banking sector from our diaspora there.
In addition to the economic growth and progress that the country has known, the focus of the discussion was the treatment of the Sovereign Fund as a development institution as well as the important achievements and developments of the Central Bank of Kosovo.
The role and function of the Sovereign Fund, how it will serve the development of the country and the investment strategy that comes with it, were emphasized. The Prime Minister emphasized that transparency and supervision will be key as long-term goals and vision are the strengthening of economic independence, the sustainable and comprehensive growth of Kosovo and the positioning of the country as a reliable and attractive partner in the international financial markets.
Regarding the important developments of the Central Bank of Kosovo, it was emphasized its key role in maintaining the stability and sustainability of the financial system of Kosovo and the realization of reforms and strategic initiatives which have increased confidence in the financial sector and enabled the integration of Kosovo into the global financial systems. Among others, the advancement of cash operations, financial inclusion and access to finance, pre-application for the Common European Payments Area (SEPA) were singled out.
In the meeting, the possibilities to improve the liquidity of the companies as well as the role of the ICT sector in the Kosovo and financial system were discussed, taking into account the rapid development of this sector and its potential in our country.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked the participants for the meeting, conversation and valuable exchange, appreciating the role of the diaspora as one of the main factors with which we cooperate and share the vision for the development and progress of the country.
