On this occasion, Prime Minister Kurti said that tonight we commemorate together an artist with a rare talent, a highly respected academic and at the same time a man with a great soul, Luan Mulliqi. This evening, he added, is a tribute to his life and work, a life that has left precious legacies of our art and culture.

“Luan Mulliqi stood out for his works that are in well-known international galleries and museums, but also for his connections with prominent people, as an example that Mulliqi taught us about the power of art, as a bridge between people, peoples, cultures. His presence has remained permanent in common public spaces through statues and busts that are located all over the capital, cities, our country, Kosovo. In Pristina, we find the Lion on the bust of Madeleine Albright, Ismail Qemali, Fehmi Agani, Bob Dole, and in Gjakovë we find it on the bust of the poet Ali Podrimja, while in Albania, on the monumental sculpture of Mother Teresa”, said Prime Minister Kurti.

Remembering the figure of the artist, the Prime Minister said that we are aware that his legacy is not just a collection of works of art, but an example of devotion and love for art and for the country. “Through the “Luan Mulliqi” Foundation, we will continue to follow his footsteps, support young artists, and keep his memory alive in every artistic endeavor”, he said.

In conclusion, he said that Luan Mulliqi is no longer physically among us, but his name and work will remain forever, as a source of inspiration for the coming generations of both artists and art lovers, as long as he came from the people themselves and returned to the people with these works of art, which we will have forever.

Dear attendees,

Tonight we have gathered to commemorate together an artist with rare talent, a highly respected academic and at the same time a man with a great soul, Luan Mulliqi. This evening is a tribute to his life and work, a life that has left a precious legacy of art and our culture.

Luan Mulliqi was born in Gjakovë, a place that has often produced high figures of art and culture, and he himself became one of them. After completing his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Pristina, he continued his advanced studies in Belgrade. Through his uncompromising dedication, he not only contributed to the development of monumental sculpture in our country, but also became a well-known name on the international scene.

Luan Mulliqi was distinguished for his works that are in well-known international galleries and museums, but also for his connections with prominent people, as an example that Mulliqi taught us about the power of art, as a bridge between people, peoples, cultures . His presence has remained permanent in common public spaces through statues and busts that are located all over the capital, cities, our country, Kosovo. In Pristina, we find the Lion on the bust of Madeleine Albright, Ismail Qemali, Fehmi Agani, Bob Dole, and in Gjakovë we find it on the bust of the poet Ali Podrimja, and in Albania on the monumental sculpture of Mother Teresa.

Today, as we remember his figure, we are aware that his legacy is not just a collection of works of art, but an example of devotion and love for art and country. Through the “Luan Mulliqi” Foundation, we will continue to follow his footsteps, support young artists, and keep his memory alive in every artistic endeavor.

Luan Mulliqi is no longer physically with us for a year, but his name and work will remain forever, as a source of inspiration for generations to come, both of artists and art lovers. On this memorial evening, to the sounds of the music he held dearest to his heart, we are all united in honoring a man who gave so much to our art and culture. He came from the people himself and returned to the people with these works of art which the people will have forever even now that they no longer have Luani among them physically.

Thank you to everyone who is here to remember and honor this bright figure of Kosovo. Thank you very much for the invitation and for your attention, and with deep respect and eternal gratitude, we bow to our national artist, Luan Mulliqi!
