The meetings in New York of the United States of America, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, continued with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, in the premises of the General Consulate of our Republic there.
In the ongoing discussion about the economic performance of recent years, Prime Minister Kurti first thanked Mrs. Georgieva for the IMF’s continued support to Kosovo in building sustainable institutional capacities and implementing important economic reforms.
The meeting also discussed the implementation of the programs that Kosovo has with the IMF, where the good progress of the program for Resilience and Sustainability Facility was highlighted, through which Kosovo has been enabled to increase its new energy capacities. renewable, while the commitment to the full implementation of the Stand by Arrangement program was also emphasized.
The Managing Director, Georgieva, congratulated Kosovo for the results and success achieved in fiscal sustainability, as well as for the successful implementation of the current MFI programs. She emphasized that Kosovo’s results in public debt management can serve as an example for other economies.
During the conversation, it was also discussed about new opportunities for cooperation in fulfilling the agenda of economic reforms, the realization of investments in infrastructure and energy, the improvement of the investment climate and the advancement of the environment for doing business.
In the meeting, together with the prime minister was the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transport, Hekuran Murati.
