At Europe House, the discussion on “SEPA Accession – Economic Benefits for Kosovo” took place today. The First Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, was a participant in the discussion panel, also present at the event were the Head of the EU Mission, Aivo Orav, the Ambassador of Germany, Jorn Rohde, the Ambassador of Croatia, Danijela Barisic, the Ambassador of North Macedonia, Shpresa Jusufi, as well as representatives from the German Economic Team.
In his addresses, the deputy prime minister said that the Republic of Kosovo is intensively following the work for membership in the Single Euro Payments Market (SEPA).
He highlighted the ongoing work regarding the adoption of three necessary laws such as the law on banks, the law on payment services and the law on preventing money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism. Also, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the Central Bank of Kosovo has drafted 20 regulations related to SEPA, which are expected to be approved after the approval of these laws in the Assembly of the Republic.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that the advancement towards integration in SEPA is an important step forward in the framework of approximation with the standards of the European Union and membership in the European family.
