The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci and the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Bardhyl Dobra, visited the French Institute in Pristina, where he was received by the French Ambassador to Kosovo, Olivier Guérot .
While getting to know the premises and activities of the French Institute, Prime Minister Kurti thanked Ambassador Guérot for his hospitality and for the opportunity for the citizens of Kosovo to get to know France and the French language. Meanwhile, through an electronic connection that was made during today’s visit by the French professor Christophe Goddard, it was announced about the work that he and his colleagues are doing in the field of history and archaeological research in Kosovo within the framework of cooperation with the Public University of Pristina.
The French Institute in Kosovo, within the French Embassy, is a new bridge between Kosovo and France, between our languages and between our people, he said.
The Prime Minister described the possibility of learning the French language in this Institute as a very big advantage both in relation to art and culture as well as professional perspective.
“I encourage the public officials of our state, but also students and professors, entrepreneurs to consider visiting the French Institute and learning the French language here, which is an extraordinary window to the peak of the quality of art and culture.”
The French Institute in Kosovo, as a key element of the educational and cultural cooperation between France and Kosovo, operates within the framework of the French Embassy, with headquarters in Pristina.

When the French Institute was opened in Kosovo, I did was not in the country, I was on a trip abroad. I am very happy that today I visited the French Institute in Kosovo and I thank the French Ambassador Olivier Guérot very much for his hospitality and for this account of the opportunities for our country and for our citizens to get to know more about France and the French language.
I, if I had known, in my adolescence that I will end up reading so many books by French authors, I would probably have learned French. Unfortunately, I have read those authors translated into Albanian or English, but as Ambassador Guérot also said during today’s meeting, this is something that can be corrected and it cannot be corrected only for me, but many citizens of our country. Therefore, learning the French language is a very big advantage, because everyone who likes French literature, who listens to French music, who watches French movies, it is good to know French as well.
I encourage public officials of our state, but also students and professors, entrepreneurs to consider visiting the French Institute and learning the French language here, which is an extraordinary window to the peak of the quality of art and culture.
