On the International Day of Missing Persons, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met the women of Krusha e Vogël, whom the Government has supported with the measure for economic empowerment.
During this visit, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his gratitude for the hospitality and the meeting with 16 women entrepreneurs of this village, who are continuing their work to increase family well-being.
Prime Minister Kurti reiterated that the families of the missing are high among the priorities and in the care of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.
In the joint visit with the Deputy Prime Minister Donika Gërvalla, the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Saranda Bogujevci, the Chairman of the Government Commission for Missing Persons, Andin Hoti and Edi Gusia, d.d. Executive Director at the Agency for Gender Equality, they talked about the achievements and future plans of these self-employment initiatives.
The government has allocated a budget of 500,000 euros for the implementation of this measure for families who are currently on the pension list for persons missing during the war. The Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, through the Agency for Gender Equality, with the Governmental Commission for Missing Persons, will allocate subsidies for the purpose of empowering and economic independence of women and girls. Entitled to apply are natural persons, women or girls who enjoy a pension for persons missing during the war in Kosovo, or a member (woman/girl) from the immediate family of persons who enjoy a pension for persons missing during the war in Kosovo, who undertake self-employment initiatives from which they are employed and ensure family well-being and/or income to meet basic needs. The second call for applications is open until September 4, 2024.
