The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met in the United States of America with Senator Chris Murphy, on the sidelines of the Democratic National Convention.
First, emphasizing the strong relations with the United States of America, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his interest in increasing cooperation and commercial and economic exchange with our American allies and partners.
Furthermore, they talked about developments in the country, the security situation in the region and the importance of cooperation between the countries of the Western Balkans, as well as the important moment in American politics in the context of the upcoming elections on November 5.
Regarding the dialogue with Serbia, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized Kosovo’s commitment to the full implementation of the Basic Agreement and the Ohrid Implementing Annex. He added that for the agreement to be implemented, its acceptance by Serbia is also needed, by signing it as proof and guarantee of commitment to the implementation of the agreement.
Prime Minister Kurti underlined that Serbia should withdraw the letter sent to the European Union by former Prime Minister Brnabić last December, through which Serbia’s rejection and withdrawal from the agreement is expressed. Serbia must return to the agreement and respect it in order for it to be implemented. There is no implementation of the agreement because, first of all, there is no respect for it.
Now that it has been 11 months since the murder of our police sergeant Afrim Bunjaku in Banjska, it is high time for the master criminal Millan Radojçiq to surrender to the justice authorities of Kosovo, and for this Prime Minister Kurti requested that the US put pressure on Official Belgrade.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked Senator Murphy for the meeting and conversation, expressing his gratitude for his continuous support to Kosovo.
