The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted today in a farewell meeting the ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kosovo, Carin Lobbezoo.
In a cordial meeting, Prime Minister Kurti thanked Ambassador Lobbezoo for conveying the friendship and support of the Netherlands during her mandate. In this period with many developments, mutual cooperation has contributed to the preservation and advancement of excellent relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The Prime Minister emphasized that the relations between Kosovo and the Netherlands and the peoples of the two countries have strengthened even more, especially after the liberalization of visas.
He expressed special thanks for the support of the Netherlands and Ambassador Lobbezoo to Kosovo during our application process for the Council of Europe.
In addition to our country’s journey towards European integration, the meeting also discussed the ongoing support of the Dutch Embassy for civil society organizations in Kosovo, through various programs and initiatives. In this context, the MATRA program was singled out, the implementation of which has promoted the development of this community and has influenced the strengthening of local non-governmental organizations in our country. In addition, he emphasized that the Dutch Embassy’s focus on improving accountability and transparency in governance and the justice system is of great importance for our country.
The Kingdom of the Netherlands is one of the first countries to recognize Kosovo’s independence, just two weeks after its announcement.
Prime Minister Kurti wished Ambassador Lobbezoo success in her next engagements.
