Prime Minister Kurti welcomed the former Prime Minister of Great Britain, Tony Blair

On the day of the 25th anniversary of the end of the NATO campaign that stopped the ethnic cleansing of Albanians in Kosovo and in the context of the launch of activities marking the liberation of Kosovo on June 12, 1999, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Tony Blair, who is visiting our country. Before this meeting, former Prime Minister Blair was welcomed in a solemn session in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.
 
First, the prime minister thanked the United Kingdom and Mr. Blair for his help and contribution to the liberation of Kosovo, his important role and unwavering support during the war in Kosovo, which led to the liberation of the country from the Serbian invaders and support in the state building stages of our country.
 
The Prime Minister added that he was honored to welcome Tony Blair today, adding that his leadership and determination were crucial in rallying international support and ensuring that justice and peace prevailed. “The people of Kosovo will remember and be forever grateful for your commitment to justice and peace,” said the Prime Minister.
 
Together, they recalled the important events that culminated in Kosovo’s freedom, discussing the critical decisions and actions taken during NATO’s 1999 intervention that were key to ending the war and ensuring peace.
 
The meeting also discussed the current developments, in which case the Prime Minister informed him of the progress achieved, emphasizing that Kosovo is the most advanced democracy in the region and with the greatest economic growth.
