The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Minister for Communities and Returns, Nenad Rashiq and the Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, met today in Pristina, the Deputy Mayor of the North Mitrovica Municipality, Katarina Ađançiq, the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Zveçan, Natasha Tomaniq and the deputy mayor of the Municipality of Leposavic, Marina Bogojeviq.
During this conversation, which came after the visit and numerous meetings in Berlin regarding Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe, Prime Minister Kurti discussed with the three vice-presidents the needs for municipal services that can be exercised in a coordinated manner in terms of the freedom of association of municipalities.
Vice-presidents Ađančić, Tomaniq and Bogojeviq said that they see Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe as an important step for the empowerment of their municipalities and that they will express such a position in meetings with the diplomatic representatives of the QUINT countries.
Prime Minister Kurti expressed his gratitude to the vice-mayors of North Mitrovica, Zveçan and Leposaviq, for their daily work and courage to serve the public and citizens.
This was the second meeting in less than two weeks that Prime Minister Kurti had with the three vice-presidents of the northern municipalities, thus proving the mutual interest and willingness for regular communication and close cooperation.
