Prime Minister Kurti met the social democratic network, Friends of the Western Balkans

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met today with the social democratic network Friends of the Western Balkans, a network consisting of foundations, MEPs and members of the European Union, but also of partners of parties and associations of the region. The network gathered today in Pristina where they talked about various issues, including developments in the region or even the European elections on June 9.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of these elections for the future of the European Union and consequently of the region and the enlargement process. Today, three years after the beginning of his Government, the Prime Minister presented its social, economic and democratic achievements, and also the challenges that remain on the path of Kosovo and the region towards European integration.

The Prime Minister used the opportunity to express his gratitude for the continuous support of the social democrats during these three years, especially in the European Parliament, as well as for Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe and the institutions of the European Union, to gain visa liberalization, whereas Today, Kosovo also seeks the status of a candidate country for EU membership.
