Prime Minister Kurti held a virtual meeting with Valérie Hughes

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, held a virtual meeting with Valérie Hughes, representative of the “Kosova Ireland Solidarity Group”.

The focus of the meeting was the strengthening of good relations between Kosovo and Ireland after mutual state and institutional visits.

Further, in particular, the important contribution related to the activation of our young people who are part of the diaspora in Ireland and who have strong ties with Kosovo was addressed.

In this regard, Prime Minister Kurti added that Ireland has a strong community of our expatriates who are willing to share their experiences with their country of origin, and added that these individuals can contribute to joint plans and initiatives in citizen diplomacy and in the integrated education of communities.

The Prime Minister thanked Ms. Hughes for her commitment and contribution given for a long time in helping the issue of political prisoners in Kosovo, during which time she was also acquainted with Prime Minister Kurti.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti informed Mrs. Hughes also for the preparations being made to mark the 25th anniversary of the liberation of Kosovo, at the same time he invited her to visit Kosovo on this important occasion.

At the end of the meeting, the willingness to continue cooperation and to benefit from the contribution of the Kosovo diaspora was expressed.

Present at this meeting, along with the Prime Minister, were the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Liza Gashi and Dr. Edona Maloku Berdyna, researcher at Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland.
