The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received the new Ambassador of the United Kingdom, Jonathan Hargreaves, at the first official meeting after the delivery of credentials.
The Prime Minister congratulated Ambassador Hargreaves on his new task, wishing him success and offered him the cooperation of the Office of Prime Minister in the advancement of bilateral relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the United Kingdom.
The Prime Minister said that the United Kingdom is a friend and ally of the Republic of Kosovo and we are grateful for the great contribution of the United Kingdom to the liberation, independence and development of Kosovo, emphasizing the excellent bilateral relations and the strong ties between our two peoples. .
The Prime Minister also thanked Ambassador Hargreaves for the contribution of the United Kingdom to the security of Kosovo through the NATO mission and underlined the importance of the visit of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, David Cameron to Kosovo at the beginning of this year and the clear messages about security and peace.
Speaking about Kosovo’s democratic and economic progress, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of advancing towards full membership in the Council of Europe, NATO and the European Union and the support of the United Kingdom in this direction.
The meeting also discussed current topics and impressions from the Prime Minister’s recent visit to the United Kingdom and Ireland, as well as the visit to Northern Ireland.
