Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi participated in the meeting on non-majority communities and human rights

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo for Minority Affairs and Human Rights, Emilija Rexhepi, participated in the meeting for non-majority communities and human rights, organized by NDI, with the presence of officials of the Government, the Assembly and the sector of civil society.

In this meeting, which marks a step forward towards building an inclusive political and social order in Kosovo, Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi said that they are committed to advancing the social and economic status of women, focusing on two key elements: Economic empowerment of women, for which concrete steps have been considered to create an economic environment that supports women’s progress. “By removing obstacles in the business world, we aim to enable women to become leaders and entrepreneurs who contribute to society,” said Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi.

Second, in the Protection of Women’s Rights, emphasizing the importance of solidarity and joint action to ensure the full protection of women’s rights. “Only together we can form a society without fear of discrimination or restrictions for every woman”, she said.

In her speech, Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi said that since the beginning of her mandate, she has focused on promoting the inclusion of women and gender equality. She emphasized the efforts to dissolve the inequality, both ethnic and those that divide men and women. She added that her cabinet is for the first time in the service of protecting the rights of women, non-majority communities and that this government has done more than any previous governments in maintaining social equality and the legal protection of all members of non-majority communities, with a special attention to women’s rights and their protection in Kosovar society.
