As part of the Berlin Process Summit, which is being held today in Tirana, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met in advance the Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Affairs of the German Parliament, Michael Roth.
During the meeting, the current situation in the country and the dialogue process were discussed.
Regarding the dialogue process mediated by the European Union, Prime Minister Kurti said that it cannot continue as if nothing had happened. The next chapter of the normalization dialogue should take into account the aggressive action of Serbia through the September 24 terrorist attack, for which there is sufficient evidence and facts for Serbia’s involvement.
The approach to the process must be balanced, respect and fully implement the Basic Agreement and its annex. Serbia backs down from the public and factual rejection of the parts of the Basic Agreement that deal with the de-facto recognition of Kosovo and our territorial integrity.
Further, there was a discussion about Kosovo’s membership in international organizations and bilateral relations between Kosovo and Germany.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked Mr. Roth for the continuous support of Germany as well as his to the Republic of Kosovo.
This was the second meeting between the two, after the one held in Pristina on September 11, for which Mr. Roth emphasized that meetings and conversations with Prime Minister Kurti are a pleasure.
