Dear members of the Assembly of the Republic,
Dear Chairman Konjufca,
Dear Deputy Prime Ministers and Government Ministers,
Ladies and gentleman,
Dear citizens,
On Sunday, September 24, we experienced an aggressive attack by the criminal and terrorist gangs of Serbia, not only against the Kosovo Police, but against the state of the Republic, our order and security.
The orchestrated attack of masked criminal and terrorist gangs killed our police officer, Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku, and injured another policeman.
It was a difficult day for our country and our entire nation. The Kosovo Police will miss a dedicated member of it, as will his family and our society. However, his murder turned into an even greater commitment in the fight against criminal and terrorist gangs and in the victory of the battle by the Kosovo Police. The terrorists have either been killed, or arrested, or are being pursued after fleeing.
Afrim Bunjaku is the youngest Hero of Kosovo. The only policeman who was killed in this confrontation was the one who was killed in an ambush, at 03:00 in the morning, when it was night and dark. Meanwhile, as the light became clearer, it was seen that any criminal and terrorist groups have no chance with the Kosovo Police.
They were killed, arrested or are being pursued because they are on the run.
On Sunday in Banjskë of Zveçan, there was a terrorist and criminal attack which violated our territorial integrity, state sovereignty and national security. The attackers who managed to escape must be extradited, must be handed over to the authorities of the Republic of Kosovo.
The organizations “Civil Defense” and “Northern Brigade” should be declared terrorist organizations also by our friendly, partner and allied countries, as the Government of the Republic of Kosovo did, in its meeting on June 29 this year.
For this act of aggression against Kosovo, Serbia should be sanctioned and punished internationally. If she goes unpunished then she will repeat the crime.
The military weaponry and combat training that the Serbian professionals had, who attacked in Banjskë of Zveçan on Sunday, are all from Serbia and fresh in time.
Let me tell about the qualitative description of the weaponry confiscated in Banjskë.
– M-80 Zolla is a single-use, unguided anti-tank system, produced in Serbia. It is produced in the state-owned Sloboda factory in Serbia. This weapon is used against armored vehicles and fortifications. The projectile can penetrate steel up to 30 centimeters, and the effective distance is up to 250 meters.
– Zastava M93 BGA (30 mm machine gun) is an automatic weapon that launches 30 mm grenades, produced in Serbia. It is produced in the state factory “Zastava Arms” in Kragujevc. This weapon is used against light armored vehicles and has an effective range of up to 1700 meters.
– Anti-Personal Mines, against-persons, used against infantry and are designed to kill and injure personnel during movement on certain terrain.
– 82mm and 62mm mortar shells. They are shells of the standard of the countries of origin (former socialist countries). They are not used by NATO countries. The mortar as a weapon is considered an artillery weapon and is used for striking at long distances (5-8 km).
– Explosives (plastic, tritol and dynamite) used to destroy bridges and infrastructure. It is also used for the manufacture of various explosive devices for the destruction of personnel and armored vehicles.
– Trumpet for M70 rifle. Tromblons are high-explosive grenades fitted to the Serbian M70 Automatic Weapon intended to engage infantry/personnel.
– The Zastava M84 (Machine Gun) is an infantry weapon for eliminating personnel at a distance and covering troops with light weapons. This weapon, the Zastava M84, is made in Serbia. It is produced in the state factory “Zastava Arms” in Kragujevc. It has effective shooting up to 1000 meters.
– Zastava M70 (Serbian variant of AK 47) is an individual automatic weapon, produced in Serbia. It is produced in the state factory “Zastava Arms” in Kragujevc. This M70 is used for personnel destruction and has an effective firing range of up to 410 meters.
– Zastava M76 (sniper) also confiscated, it is a semi-automatic weapon for shooting at long distances, again produced in Serbia. Again from their state factory “Zastava Arms” in Kragujevc. This weapon has a firing effect up to a distance of 800 meters and is used to eliminate targets at long distances.
– M75 hand grenades, individual weapons used against personnel outside and inside buildings.
– Drones which are unmanned aerial vehicles used for surveillance and also for combat attacks.
– Zastava M70 revolver – used as an individual weapon for defense. This stun gun is used for assassinations.
And other equipment such as: binoculars, uniforms, military bags, maps, telephones, various ammunition, cameras, bullet proof, work tools such as telephones, detonators, deafening devices that are always related to exploding explosives, which represent individual equipment and terrorist and criminal group teams that usually serve for military activities.
In other words, all this confiscated weaponry is a production of Serbia, it came from Serbia and it was such a large weaponry in terms of type and quantity for an entire army.
Therefore, blaming Serbia is inevitable, unavoidable, even for those who do not want to see and hear.
It is important in this case to emphasize that it is a question of a criminal and terrorist gang which was not a smuggling gang, nor citizens who got hold of the weapons, but professionals with combat training, and with at least the types of weapons that I mentioned here in front of you and who originate from Serbia.
Serbia provided them with military equipment, conducted combat training, as well as political goals and logistical support.
But we all know together that this did not begin on Sunday, September 24th. In Leposaviq, we were kidnapped by 3 policemen on June 14. We also confiscated large quantities of weapons in Zveçan on June 23 in a vehicle with Belgrade license plates that was owned by the Serbian Railways. Even in a house in Zveçan again on September 5. And, before that we had three weeks of 16 barricades in December last year, attacks on May 26 and 29 this year in Zveçan, which left dozens of KFOR soldiers, Kosovo police and media journalists injured and hurt. All this shows that we had a forewarned chronicle of the murder of our hero, Afrim Bunjaku on September 24. On this occasion, we thank all the countries that strongly condemned this terrorist and criminal attack in Banjskë of Zveçan as a result of Serbia’s aggressive act and for the support they have given us.
I also thank all the citizens of the Republic, for their solidarity with the Kosovo Police, with our state institutions. I also thank you, honorable members of the Assembly, for your contribution by standing by the citizens and with clear condemning attitudes towards Serbia in these very difficult but also important moments for our Republic and our future.
The war against the crime and terror sponsored by Serbia continues, and it will necessarily end with the victory of our independent state, the Republic of Kosovo, its values and interests, its citizens, all its communities, without distinction.
Thank you. And, glory to Afrim Bunjaku!
