The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, today was the host of the American Senator, Jack Reed, at the same time the chairman of the Armed Forces Committee in the US Senate, who was accompanied in this meeting by the American Ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier.
The Prime Minister thanked Senator Reed for the continuous support of the USA to Kosovo at every stage of liberation, independence and development, as he shared with him his memories and experience and impressions from the visit he made to the state of Rhode Island, this state of which Senator Reed represents in the US Senate.
In the meeting in which he was accompanied by the new Minister of Defense, Ejup Macedonci, Prime Minister Kurti placed emphasis on increasing the budget in the field of defense, increasing the capacities of the army, and close cooperation with the United States of America in carrying out missions abroad of the Kosovo Security Force, as was the case with the co-landing with the Iowa National Guard in Kuwait. On this occasion, he thanked him personally, for Kosovo’s inclusion in the National Defense Authorization Fiscal Act of 2024, which enables Kosovo to participate in military exercises led by the United States of America to increase interoperability and adaptability with NATO troops.
In addition, he informed Senator Reed about the latest developments, the main achievements of the country and the successes of governance, sharing with him the latest data of economic and democratic indicators that prove the progress achieved.
Senator Reed expressed gratitude for the hospitality. He singled out the decision and will of the Republic of Kosovo for housing Afghan citizens, expressing his gratitude. Among other things, he said that the support to Kosovo in 1999 was one of the most valuable actions of the United States of America, while he appreciated the progress that Kosovo has achieved and gave his support for the positive results.
