The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Minister of Defense, Armend Mehaj, today visited the “Skënderbeu” FSK barracks in Ferizaj, where groups of students were giving lectures on “General knowledge about security institutions”.
Prime Minister Kurti, in front of the students, in order to unfold and implement the “Education for Security” program, expressed the validity of the program for public and state security, reminding them of the importance of learning about security institutions and their history.
Through this program, the students, in addition to attending lectures, will simultaneously develop practical activities within the pilot project of the subject “Education for Safety”. This program is expected from September to take place in 8 barracks in the cities of Kosovo and with 2100 participating students.
Participating students through the “Safety Education” course will acquire basic knowledge on safety and protection, and not only that.
“Here you will receive valuable lessons on safety, on your own safety, on each other’s safety and on the safety of society in general. The knowledge and awareness that arise through Safety Education will help them in whatever profession they will take in the future”, said the Prime Minister.
He reiterated the high role of defense institutions, in addition to public and national security, also in raising civic awareness, vigilance and care for oneself, each other and for our country.
The Government of the Republic of Kosovo in its Government program 2021-2025 has foreseen the development of the educational program for the youth of the Republic of Kosovo in the field of defense and security. The “Education for Security” program is a program that aims to educate and train the youth of the Republic of Kosovo, in the field of defense and security. It is planned to be developed with secondary school students of the Republic of Kosovo. This project is being carried out in close cooperation between the Ministry of Defense, the Security Force, the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation and the Municipal Directorates of Education, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Kosovo Police and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
