The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, was hosted today in a meeting by the Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, James Cleverly.
Thanking Secretary Cleverly for his hospitality and cooperation, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his gratitude for the United Kingdom’s continued support to Kosovo and its people at all stages of state formation, state building and development.
The meeting discussed the excellent relations between the two countries, as well as the opportunities and areas in which they can be strengthened and deepened.
The latest developments in the Republic of Kosovo and the situation in the four municipalities in the north of the country were also the subject of this meeting. Prime Minister Kurti notified Secretary Cleverly with his proposal for the escalation of the situation, emphasizing that the rule of law is the basic principle for addressing attacks against the Kosovo Police, KFOR soldiers and journalists during the tense days in those municipalities and that enables holding early elections in the same municipalities, which must be comprehensive, free and democratic and with an open and fair campaign.
Prime Minister Kurti is conducting a two-day working visit to Great Britain. This was his second meeting with Secretary Cleverly. The first meeting was held in October last year, also in the United Kingdom.
