The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli and the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Taulant Kelmendi, visited the software development company “LinkPlus IT”, where he was hosted by the managers and workers her.
On this occasion, the prime minister congratulated the leaders for their work, describing information technology as one of the key areas of the country’s development in the provision of services not only in Kosovo, but also beyond.
There are about 1,500 Technology, Information and Communication companies in Kosovo, of which 70% export services abroad. This year, exports have increased by 113% compared to last year.
The Prime Minister emphasized the fact that the Government of Kosovo is working on digital transformation as one of the areas where the young people of Kosovo are quite successful, and for this they have and will have the support of the Government.
During the visit, he, together with Minister Rizvanolli, informed the representatives of the company about the work that is being done towards the opening of the Innovation Park in Bërnica, this year-long request of the Information Technology sector, which is being worked on intensively to be done as soon as possible. He invited everyone to share their ideas with the Prime Minister’s Office for areas of common interest and serving the public, while Minister Murati expressed the government’s will to do the digital transformation together.
Minister Rizvanolli mentioned the inauguration of the Kosovar Network for Research and Education (KREN) last year and the importance of this institution, thanks to which all universities, public and private, have access not only to basic software, but also advanced training and virtual laboratories.
The company “LinkPlus IT” is a software development company headquartered in Pristina, Skopje and soon in Tirana, with a mission to help successful companies expand their technical capacity.
Founded in 2013, it is one of the first in this field, contributing to the development of the economy by providing services to international clients by providing methods of increasing productivity as well as by creating teams to provide customized development solutions of the software. Within 10 years in the IT market, he has developed projects for world giants in the automotive, aviation, marketing, fields, etc.
Also, this company over 10 years has provided training opportunities for more than 150+ young people in IT fields, creating new generations ready for the labor market. At the same time, it has opened jobs, where it now employs 65 young people, involved in large international projects. The role of export for Kosovo is of particular importance, so it has made “LinkPlus IT” bring about 10 million euros to Kosovo alone, through innovative solutions offered and developed by young people from Kosovo. They played a major role in the field of education, transforming traditional learning into integrated e-learning platforms, especially during the 2020 pandemic.
Recently, “LinkPlus IT” has been awarded with the category “Impact Stars” from the Fast 50 program for Central Europe by Deloitte, for the contribution made to solutions that contribute directly to a digitalized society, business and environment.
