The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, supports the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Group of the VETËVENDOSJE! Movement, Mimoza Kusari Lila, the leaders of the working group of the Concept document for the Sovereign Fund, Professor Besnik Pula and the Coordinator of the Legal Working Group of the Sovereign Fund, Rrezarta Pllana , participated in the presentation of the Sovereign Fund to representatives of organizations and businesses.
The objectives, organization and connection of private businesses with the Sovereign Fund were the main issues that were addressed at this roundtable.
Public enterprises along with 24 thousand other assets will be transferred by the government to the Fund, which will increase the possibility of investments and improve their management even more.
170 countries of the world, out of about 200 in total, already have sovereign funds. The highest trend in the formation of sovereign funds was recorded in the early 2000s. Two decades later, Kosovo will be part of the majority of the world and the global trend.
On May 7, a conference was held for the establishment of the Sovereign Fund. Public consultations on the Draft Law on the Sovereign Fund have already been completed and will soon be approved by the Government. The Sovereign Fund is the largest economic project ever in the country.
