The first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, hosted the General Director for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the EU, Gert Jan Koopman.
In this meeting, the support to Kosovo in the European Integration process was reiterated, including the reforms from ERA II and the implementation of the SAA.
The progress of the country was evaluated, where it was said that Kosovo has witnessed achievements in the field of the rule of law, the fight against corruption and organized crime. Our work and dedication will continue in the implementation of the SAA, through the strengthening of capacities for the implementation and coordination of reforms.
The government policies for employment and justice are in sync with the expectations of the European Commission and for this the readiness to support the Government was confirmed, including with technical assistance and concrete projects. The energy package and the support of the annual package from the IPA 2023 with 75 million euros, were also in the focus of the discussions with an emphasis on energy saving and diversification measures.
In this meeting, the Public Administration Reform was discussed with emphasis on the two basic laws and the Rationalization of Agencies, as well as the process of judicial reform, vetting, efforts to address domestic violence and other reforms in the field of the rule of law.
