The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with his Chief of Staff, Luan Dalipi, hosted a large delegation of the Council of American Ambassadors.

The Council of American Ambassadors is the association of American ambassadors with a total of 200 members, who together have served for over six decades and for eleven presidents of the United States of America.

Relations between Kosovo and the United States of America extend to the historical, economic, security and defense spheres. In front of the ambassadors and their guests, Prime Minister Kurti said that the USA is a key partner, friend and ally of our Republic. He informed them about the country’s economic and democratic progress as well as the growing cooperation between the two countries, highlighting here the $236.7 million agreement with the MCC signed last year, and the housing of Afghan refugees in Kosovo.

Furthermore, during the conversation, Prime Minister Kurti also singled out the four areas that have been treated as a priority in the 2023 budget; defense, education, agriculture and health, as he responded to the ambassadors’ interest in them.

The ambassadors congratulated the prime minister and Kosovo for the achievements. Among them, the former American ambassador Thomas Riley said that he is very glad that the government is not only trying, but also succeeding.

In the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti also updated the members of the visiting delegation with the latest developments in terms of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, with the agreement on the Basic Agreement and the implementation plan, the behavior and actions of Serbia towards them and with the positions and proposals of the Republic of Kosovo at last week’s meeting in Brussels.

This visit of the Council of American Ambassadors was organized by the Council of Albanian Ambassadors, whose representatives were also present at this meeting.
