Two days after the successful vote for the passage of the first phase for Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted the Ambassador of France, Olivier Guérot, the Ambassador of Italy, Antonello De Riu, and the Deputy Ambassador of Germany in the Republic of Kosovo, Matthias Conrad.

He took the opportunity of the meeting to thank the diplomatic representatives for their and their countries’ support to the Republic of Kosovo in the process of membership in the Council of Europe, as one of the biggest steps of our Republic since the declaration of independence.

The meeting discussed the process of implementing the Basic Agreement with Serbia and the Implementation Plan adopted on March 18 between both countries, as well as the meeting in Brussels on May 2.

Regarding the Basic Agreement and the Implementation Plan, Prime Minister Kurti reiterated his commitment to comprehensive and unconditional implementation of the Basic Agreement. Meanwhile, regarding the next high-level political meeting, he said he expects constructive engagement that ensures full and immediate implementation of all the agreed articles.

While he emphasized the successive behaviors and actions of Serbia that contradict and violate the Basic Agreement, this agreement has the full support of Germany, France and Italy, along with other EU member states and the United States of America. Support that Prime Minister Kurti asked them to continue to have until its full implementation.
