The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received in the Government building for a bilateral meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who, in addition to his staff, was accompanied by the ambassador non-resident for Kosovo, Nabila Al Shamsi.
Thanking for the visit, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his gratitude for the help of the United Arab Emirates to Kosovo and its people, in the most difficult days as refugees in 1999, for the support after the declaration of independence as a sovereign state, and for the excellent relations bilateral. Special gratitude was expressed for the “Sheikha Fatima” Children’s Hospital in Pristina, which was built with the financial support of the United Arab Emirates, and which was inaugurated in September 2021.
He informed him about the developments in the country, the results of the government during its two years, and about the characteristics that make Kosovo a suitable and attractive place for investors. Inviting them to explore the investment opportunities that Kosovo offers, he also informed them of infrastructure projects in the field of transport, and of plans and opportunities in the field of renewable energy, in which the United Arab Emirates has significant experience.
The meeting also discussed the relations between Kosovo and Serbia and the Basic Agreement and its implementation annex, which was reached in Ohrid on March 18, under the mediation of the European Union.
Minister Zayed Al Nahyan, who expressed his happiness that he is visiting Pristina again, thanked Prime Minister Kurti for his hospitality, cooperation and excellent bilateral relations.
Alongside the Prime Minister, the meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla, the Ambassador of Kosovo to the United Arab Emirates, Xhabir Hamiti, Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Liburn Aliu, Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari and the deputy of the Assembly, at the same time the vice president of the Friendship Group with the United Emirates, Armend Muja.
