During his working visit to Tirana, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, was welcomed for a working lunch by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Edi Rama.
The focus of the meeting was the talks on March 18 in Ohrid and the agreement on the annex to the implementation of the Basic Agreement, on February 27 in Brussels.
Prime Minister Kurti informed Prime Minister Rama about the dynamics of the meeting, the creative proposals of the negotiating delegation of Kosovo and about his constructive approach of the Government of Kosovo throughout the process that preceded the agreement.
Speaking about the developments of the talks, he also informed Prime Minister Rama about Serbia’s rejections to his offer to draft the statute for the implementation of Article 7 of the Basic Agreement on the basis of the three pillars referring to the Constitution and the decision of the Constitutional Court of December of 2015, the letter of the former high representative of the EU, Federica Mogherini of August 2015 and the American position articulated by the senior adviser of the US Department, Chollet and the American emissary Escobar of January 2023, and the signing of the annex of the implementation of the Basic Agreement in Brussels, as well as the agreement itself.
During the meeting, the very special, close and close relations between the two republics and the cooperation of the two governments were discussed. On this occasion, it was agreed that the ninth joint meeting of the two governments will be held in June, this time in Albania.
