The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the President of the country Vjosa Osmani Sadriu, the Speaker of the Assembly, Glauk Konjufca, the Deputy Prime Minister Donika Gërvalla and members of the government cabinet, paid tribute today at the “Adem Jashari” Memorial Complex in Prekaz, in the wake of activities in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Epopee of the Liberation Army of Kosovo.
Remembering the attacks in Prekaz and after honoring the Jashari family for their sacrifice and sublime sacrifice for the state of Kosovo, Prime Minister Kurti said that before 25 years, three generations of Jasharaj fought for three days in a row, for every minute in the battle here in Prekaz with thousands of police forces of Serbia, who had surrounded the Jasharaj tower and house multiple times, in which case, led by the commander-in-chief Adem Jashari, a total of 59 people died heroically.
Prime Minister Kurti called Prekazi the capital of the uprising and said that they return and return there to remember and commemorate the Epopee of the Kosovo Liberation Army, which gave the decisive blow to the KLA and then enabled the liberation and freedom of our country.
“Today, we build democratic institutions, we do economic development, without ever forgetting to whom we owe this freedom and this opportunity to move forward”, said Prime Minister Kurti.
After the tributes at the cemetery, Prime Minister Kurti, together with President Osmani and Speaker Konjufca, members of the governing cabinet and other representatives of the assembly, visited the Jasharaja house, where they were received by the head of the family Rifat Jashari, the brother of Adem and Hamëz Jashari. There, on this occasion, the president of the country awarded the “Order of Freedom” medal to Rifat Jashari.
