The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti and the Minister of Defense, Armend Mehaj, visited the Turkish KFOR military base in Prizren. They were received there by the Commander of the Turkish Contingent, Colonel Recai Yılmaz, the Consul General of the Turkish Consulate in Prizren, Celal Doğan and the deputy ambassador of Turkey in Kosovo, Şeyda Aydın Çimenli and the military attaché of Turkey in Kosovo, Colonel Çağdaş Akif Kahraman.
Prime Minister Kurti and Minister Mehaj once again expressed their deepest condolences to the victims of Monday’s devastating earthquake.
The Republic of Kosovo and its people are close to the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish people, in the highest readiness for support.
The Kosovo Security Force contingent, consisting of urban search and rescue specialists, emergency medicine and K9 units, are already in the areas hit by the earthquake. Meanwhile, another group from the national guard will be added to the KSF team in Turkey tonight.
The citizens of the Republic have also joined the solidarity and institutional support, who have started to send aid to the Turkish people on a voluntary and humanitarian basis. During this visit, Prime Minister Kurti saw closely the collection and packaging of aid destined for the areas with the greatest need.
