Prime Minister Kurti after visiting “Liri” enterprise in Prizren: We stand by the producers

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati and the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff, Luan Dalipi, visited today the enterprise “Liri” in Prizren. There they were welcomed by the owner of this enterprise, Liridon Kalanderi, who informed them about the premises of this factory where sweets are processed and produced.

After the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his honor that he was in this enterprise today, which is known all over Kosovo for cookies, children’s biscuits and more. “I have followed the activity and development of the “Liri” factory for more than a decade and I can say that the products of this factory are of high quality and are also increasingly becoming part of the tables of the citizens of our country”, he says.

It was discussed with both the workers and the owners about the benefits of the measures of the Economic Recovery Package 2.1 and 2.4 that have influenced the increase in production and thus the development of this important business.

The Prime Minister further said that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo stands by the producers and wants them to have as much success as possible to increase the results achieved since the increase of private businesses, manufacturing enterprises such as the “Liri” factory ‘, on the one hand it increases the contribution to the budget of the Republic of Kosovo and on the other hand it reduces unemployment in Kosovo.

The Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, said that during this visit, they also talked about the Employment Guarantee scheme for Young People and the Superpuna platform that was launched today, which was welcomed by the factory managers.
“Liri” factory has more than 220 workers when the number of workers in production is 8 times higher than in administration.

During the visit and the meetings, two deputies of the Parliamentary Group of the VETËVENDOSJE Movement from the municipality of Prizren, Artan Abrashi and Arbër Rexhaj, were also present.

Prime Minister Kurti’s statement to the media:

We are very honored to be here today at the “Liri” factory. A factory which is known all over Kosovo for cookies, children’s biscuits and not only. I have followed the activity and development of the “Liri” factory for more than a decade and I can say that the products of this factory are of high quality and are also increasingly becoming part of the tables of the citizens of our country. On this occasion, we talked with both the workers and the owners about the benefits of the measures of the Economic Recovery Package 2.1 and 2.4 that have influenced the increase in production and thus the development of this important business.

The Government of the Republic of Kosovo stands by the producers and wants them to have as much success as possible to increase the results and achievements. The number of workers in this factory has exceeded 220, in which case they have 8 times more workers in production than in administration, and I wish you further success and I thank them very much for the good and quality work they are doing.
