A minute of silence at the Government meeting in honor of the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, opened the 127th meeting of the Government with a minute of silence of the government cabinet, in honor of the thousands of lives tragically lost by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

In his own name and on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his sincere condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in this disaster, while he wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Based on our capacities, we will help overcome this tragedy. The contingent of the Kosovo Security Force, our specialists in urban search and rescue, emergency medicine and K9 units, are already in the areas affected by the earthquake, helping the institutions of Turkey and the Turkish people, he said.

Prime Minister Kurti’s complete speech in honor of the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria:

Dear Government Cabinet,
Dear citizens of the Republic,
Dear Media,

We are shocked by the earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria, with extremely large consequences, with more than 8,700 lives tragically lost.

On my behalf and on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, I express my sincere condolences to the families of the victims, who lost their loved ones. We wish the injured a speedy recovery.

The Republic of Kosovo and its people are close to the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish people, in the highest readiness for support.

Based on our capacities, we will help overcome this tragedy. The contingent of the Kosovo Security Force, our specialists in urban search and rescue, emergency medicine and K9 units, are already in the areas affected by the earthquake, helping the institutions of Turkey and the Turkish people.

As a sign of solidarity and respect with the Republic of Turkey, today in Kosovo is a day of national mourning.
