The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu and the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, hosted the representatives of the Centers for Social Work in a meeting in the Government building, this was the first meeting that was organized in such a format from the Ministry of Justice.

The Prime Minister, after greeting those present and thanking them for their commitment and work, showed them the goals and actions that the Government plans in this regard, where he singled out the establishment of the Working Group in January 2023, which will make a detailed analysis of the situation in these Centers, in relation to the responsibilities, challenges and human and professional capacities.

Further, within the Legislative Agenda, a draft law on social services is foreseen, which foresees a deep reform in the Centers for Social Work, since even though there are 38 centers in all municipalities of Kosovo and they offer more than 70 services to citizens, they have never has been given due attention.

With these two documents, the government aims to strengthen the centers through the increase of capacities, the obligation to profile their staff so that they are able to serve the needs of the citizens, as well as the strengthening of the Inspection mechanism in cases where failure is suspected of carrying out responsibilities.

Until January 1, the services of these Centers operated within the Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers, while from that time onwards these services were transferred to the Ministry of Justice.
