The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, who is in Prague, Czech Republic, to submit the application of the Republic of Kosovo to the European Union, was received today in a bilateral meeting by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Jan Lipavský.
Bilateral relations and close cooperation between the two countries were discussed, especially during the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked the Czech Republic and Minister Lipavský for the continuous and vocal support they have given to Kosovo in its goals for European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
He singled out the important role and dedication of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU in dealing with the issue of visa liberalization as a priority. Yesterday, the Council of the EU and the European Parliament agreed on the lifting of the visa regime for citizens of the Republic of Kosovo no later than January 1, 2024.
The meeting also discussed regional cooperation, the agreements that were signed within the Berlin Process and the dialogue process between Kosovo and Serbia.
