Pristina, December 5, 2022
The first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, accompanied by the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, held the regular meeting with civil society organizations for the month of December.
In his speech, Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi said that today’s next sectorial meeting, in the field of energy, has been selected based on the demands of civil society organizations, but also because it has already been imposed as a priority for this year. Through these meetings, we aim to involve civil society in direct consultations with implementing institutions in the framework of legislative and policy reforms, before they are placed on the platform for public consultations.
Today, there was a discussion on the priorities from the European Reform Agenda, regarding energy efficiency and the objectives on renewable energy for Kosovo. The participants were invited to use the regular consultations within the SAA sub-committees as well as the platform for public consultations.
We had very good meetings in other areas such as public administration reform, environment, health, education, employment and social issues. The European Integration process is so complex and demanding that it requires the mobilization of all local potential, therefore any help and contribution is welcome. As the Government, we count on the support of civil society actors, on sectorial achievements and not only, since before the end of this year, we will apply for membership in the European Union.
We see civil society actors as partners in the European Integration process, where each party has its own role and can contribute to the design, monitoring, implementation or communication of reforms.
