The group of experts gathered today to draft the law and statute of the Sovereign Fund of the Republic of Kosovo. The two documents will establish and operationalize the Sovereign Fund as a key organization for the country’s economic development.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, who was part of this workshop, said that the drafting of the law and the statute of the Fund requires time, commitment and dedication as he thanked the group of experts for their willingness to be part of this important undertaking of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.
During the workshop, the work so far was discussed and time plans for the first drafts were discussed.
The Government of the country, in its 81st meeting, had approved the Concept Document of the Sovereign Fund, which defines the goals, function and mandates of the Fund, as well as foresees the entire process that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo must follow until the establishment of the Fund.
This Fund will administer enterprises and assets of the Republic with development potential, improving governance and increasing their value, with the aim of developing the country and the well-being of citizens.
