The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, participated in the 30th jubilee Congress of the Party of European Socialists, PES Congress 2022.
During the one-day stay in Berlin, Prime Minister Kurti participated in the congress assembly, met other social democratic leaders and politicians, and participated in the joint dinner.
With the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Olaf Scholz, Prime Minister Kurti talked about the very good bilateral relations between Kosovo and Germany, as well as about current issues.
The Prime Minister congratulated Mr. Stefan Löfven on his new position as President of the Party of European Socialists, and thanked Mr. Sergei Stanischew for his contribution as President of PSE so far.
In the meeting with Mr. Lars Klingbeil, co-leader of the German Social Democratic Party, it was discussed about Germany’s increased attention to the Western Balkans region, as well as the importance of regional cooperation within the Berlin process.
At the end, the prime minister participated in the leaders’ dinner, where he briefly addressed the heads of state, European commissioners, party leaders and other participating representatives.
At this congress of social democratic parties, policies were discussed in response to changes in international security, rising energy prices and inflation, the crisis caused by Covid, climate change and social challenges in Europe.
