Pristina, October 13, 2022

The first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, accompanied by the Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, held the regular meeting with civil society organizations.

In his speech, Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi said that as Government we see civil society actors as partners in the European Integration process where each party has its own role and can contribute to the drafting, monitoring, implementation or communication of reforms. “Especially this year, the involvement and contribution of all parties is very important.” said Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi.

Our cooperation is based on good faith and mutual commitment to reforms, regular participation of both parties, regular and comprehensive cooperation as well as concretization in specific sectorial areas.

Today’s meeting is the 5th in a row, this time in the field of education. Through this meeting, we aim to involve civil society in direct consultations with implementing institutions in the framework of legislative and policy reforms, before they are placed on the platform for public consultations.

It was also discussed the priorities derived from the European Reform Agenda, such as improving the overall quality in the education sector, ensuring transparent governance of educational institutions and increasing access to education.

The European Integration process is so complex and demanding that it requires the mobilization of all local potential, therefore any help and contribution is welcome. As Government, based on our achievements, we count on the support of civil society in sectoral achievements, since this year we will also apply for membership in the EU, with the aim of obtaining candidate status. Therefore, the participating actors were invited for cooperation both in the monitoring and implementation of reforms as well as in public diplomacy activities that we will be able to organize together.

The next meetings are planned to be held in the field of employment, social issues and energy, in November and December.
