The joint commitment to the development of sports, as well as the readiness for cooperation and support of sports structures for the development of football, were at the center of the meeting between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the President of the International Football Federation (FIFA), Gianni Infantino.
Prime Minister Kurti emphasized the importance and role that sport plays in our society, saying that football unites us today, just as it has united us even in the most difficult times.
At the meeting, the Government’s commitment to ensuring conditions, legal and physical infrastructure, as well as maximum financial support for the development of sports in our country was reiterated.
There were discussions about raising professional capacities in order to keep local talent within Kosovo with a focus on the new generations, and consolidating the physical sports infrastructure for the sport of football. Also, the potential of the expatriate athletes and their results in the international arena was singled out.
It was said that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo is open to cooperation with all international and local sports structures to ensure the development of local football in accordance with the latest developments in global sports.
The Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Daulina Osmani, as well as the president of the Football Federation of Kosovo, Agim Ademi, that of the Football Federation of Albania, Armando Duka, and the president of the Football Federation of the North Macedonia, Muhamet Sejdini were also present at the meeting.
