Prime Minister Kurti hosted the Minister of Defence of Switzerland, Viola Amherd

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted the Minister of Defence of Switzerland, Viola Amherd. Expressing his deep gratitude for Switzerland’s contribution to Kosovo before, during and after the war, and after Kosovo’s independence, Prime Minister Kurti also thanked her for Switzerland’s continued assistance in economic and democracy development programs.
He emphasized that Kosovo and Switzerland share common values with our exile in Switzerland, which are a bridge between our two countries.

Beyond bilateral cooperation in the economy and the increase in trade volume, the prime minister emphasized the readiness of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to expand cooperation in the field of defence as well.

Emphasizing that Kosovo is a success story of democratic development, he informed Minister Amherd about the economic and democratic progress of our country. He also emphasized Kosovo’s goals and plans for membership in the NATO Partnership for Peace, the Council of Europe, as well as the application for membership in the European Union.

Minister Amherd said that Switzerland and Kosovo share common values. She emphasized the importance of the large emigration from Kosovo, which contributes to the economy of Switzerland.
Reiterating Switzerland’s support for Kosovo and its democratic development, she said that it is very important for Switzerland to have stable and sovereign states in the Balkan region.

The readiness of Switzerland to help and assist the Government of the Republic of Kosovo for further growth of positive economic indicators was enhanced.

During the meeting, they discussed the security situation in Kosovo, the role of KFOR, the political situation in the region, the importance of the Berlin Process, and the Brussels dialogue.
