The Government of the Republic of Kosova held an electronic meeting in which it approved the decision to enable the registration of vehicles with RKS license plates for all vehicles equipped with license plates “PR”, “KM”, “PZ”, “GL”, UR ”,“ PE ”,“ DA ”or“ ĐA ”, as well as the decision for crossing state border by citizens with personal documents issued by the Serbian authorities.
The first decision approved by the Government of the Republic of Kosova in today’s meeting, enables owners of vehicles equipped with license plates “PR”, “KM”, “PZ”, “GL”, “UR”, “PE” , “DA” or “ĐA” from June 10th, 1999 until April 21st, 2022 to register vehicles with RKS license plates. According to this decision, registration will begin on August 1st, 2022 and will continue until September 30th, 2022. The decision has a non-recurring character after the end of the validity period. The decision obliges the Ministry of Internal Affairs to take all necessary actions and measures in order to carry out this process.
The government cabinet approved the decision according to which every person crossing state border with a personal identification document issued by the Serbian authorities, will be provided at the border crossing with a declaration form that temporarily replaces the use of such a document. The declaration form will create a basis for movement in the territory of the Republic of Kosova and for use within state institutions.
Also, according to the decision, vehicles with Serbian license plates that will be crossing state border and intend to move in the territory of the Republic of Kosova, must have the sticker placed on the part of the symbols and state name, from August 1st, 2022. Such a mechanism will be valid until October 31st, 2022 and is without prejudice to the maximum period of stay of such vehicles in the territory of the Republic of Kosova.
