Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met with the ethnomusic duo “Dina e Mel,” comprising Arbënesh Dina Bushiq from Zadar, Croatia, and Melita Ivković.
Highly appreciating their performance at the Albanian Culture Festival “Days of the Albanian” earlier this month, through which they brought the traditional sounds of the Arbënesh people of Zadar to Gjakova, Prime Minister Kurti thanked them for their contribution to researching, preserving and fostering the language, music, culture and heritage of our people.
The meeting also addressed various aspects of the development of this heritage, as well as the ties and potential for cultural cooperation between Kosovo and Croatia.
Today, at 19:00, as part of the International Seminar on Albanian Language, Literature and Culture, Arbënesh Dina Bushiq will deliver a lecture entitled “The 300th Anniversary of the Arbënesh of Zadar.” Meanwhile, tomorrow at 20:30, she and guitarist Melita Ivković will give a solo concert featuring Arbënesh songs at the National Library.
