Prishtina, 9 September 2026
The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed the delegation of the “Atlantic Council 2026 Balkans Forward Fellows”, with whom he discussed the deepening partnership in the areas of the economy, security and defence.
Prime Minister Kurti said that the alliance and partnership with the United States is special and unwavering, and that we will continue to strengthen it on the basis of our shared values and orientations.
“During the previous mandate, we invested nearly half a billion euros in weapons systems alone, achieving an unprecedented level of partnership in the field of defence. The majority of procurements were carried out through the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) programmes,” said Prime Minister Kurti.
The Government and the Assembly have also approved the deployment of a KSF contingent as part of the international stabilization force in Gaza.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti also raised the issue of the discovery of mass graves in Zubin Potok and once again called on international partners to exert greater pressure on Serbia to declassify archived military records and provide information concerning these graves.
